What is blackjack bitumen?
EVERBUILD® BLACK JACK® 901 BLACK BITUMEN PAINT is a solvent-based, full-bodied black bituminous paint. When dry, the product forms an odourless and taint- free black film suitable for metal protection as well as overcoating wood and felt.
Does Black Jack paint dry?
A minimum of two coats of EVERBUILD® BLACK JACK® 901 BLACK BITUMEN PAINT should be applied. The first coat should be allowed to dry (normally 2-4 hours depending on weather conditions) before the second coat is applied.
How long does it take for blackjack to dry?
Under ideal conditions, typically we recommend waiting 4-12 hours, and until the first coat is fully dry and cured all the way through the film.
How long does it take blackjack DPM to dry?
Allow each coat to dry before recoating: 12-24 hours depending on conditions. Full cure varies from 3-7 days depending on conditions. Full cure before burying is crucial.
Does bitumen paint crack?
Bitumen used as paint isn’t prone to peeling off, and it sticks the surface of the substrate together. It lasts extremely well out of the sun, and well in the sun when on a firm porous surface such as masonry. When it has no hard immovable substrate under it it tends to crack & split over time.
How long does blackjack paint last?
24 months from date of manufacture in tightly sealed, undamaged containers.
Does bitumen dry?
Most bitumen paints are dry in two to four hours. When dry, bitumen paint creates a thin black film which has the advantage of being odour free.
What is blackjack paint used for?
Black Bitumen Paint is weatherproof protection for all metals, corrugated iron, gutters and railings. Black Bitumen Paint can also be used for instantly waterproofing wood, brick, concrete, masonry, fall pipes and felt. 5m2 coverage per litre for non porous surfaces. Not suitable for drinking water tanks.
Can you skim over blackjack?
You shouldn’t dot and dab over sythapruf (blackjack). It is designed to be wet plastered over – so that is what you should do.
Can I paint over blackjack DPM?
When the final coat has thoroughly dried, the wall should be re-plastered. Gloss paints and other oil or alkyd based paints must not be used over a surface treated with BLACK JACK DPM.
